Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has lifted the ban imposed on cricketer Mohammad Adil Ansari. According to CAN spokesperson Chumbi Lama, the ban on him has been lifted with effect from May 21.
Based on the report of the CAN Integrity Committee, with the lifting of the ban by CAN, Adil will now be allowed to participate in national and international competitions.
He was accused of spot-fixing in the Nepal T-20 League tournament held from 9th of January to 27th of 2079. He was then banned under the Anti-Corruption Code.
But in 2080 Chait, Kathmandu district court acquitted 5 people including Adil and former national team player Mahbub Alam. The court acquitted them because there was insufficient evidence and claims of spot fixing.
