Lions Cup Volleyball: Defeated Gandaki in APF semi-finals

The Departmental Team Armed Police Force (APF) has entered the semi-finals of the first Lions Cup International Invitational Volleyball Tournament in Pokhara. APF reached the last four by defeating Gandaki Pradesh 3-2 in the first match at the multi-purpose covered hall at Pokhara Stadium. APF lost the first set 19-25 and won the second set 25-18.

After losing the third set 23-25, APF reached the semi-finals after winning the fourth and fifth sets. APF played the fourth set very well. While trailing by 3 points, APF scored 12 consecutive points in the fourth set and finally won 25-14. APF took the lead from the start in the fifth set and registered a 15-11 victory. 

With the victory of APF, the two teams that will play the semi-finals from group 'A' have been decided. From that group, the Iranian volleyball team of Iran has entered the semi-finals on Friday by becoming the group winners.  

The second match continues between Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club under Group B. The result of this match will decide the semi-final equation. Police and Indian team have registered 1-1 victory in Group 'B'. Army is winless after playing one game. If Army wins the match, the decision will be based on points. If the army is defeated, the police and the Indian team will reach the semi-finals. 

winner will get 4 lakh 44 thousand 444 and runner-up will get 2 lakh 44 thousand 444 rupees. The third will get a trophy, medal and certificate along with 1 lakh 44 thousand 444 rupees. 

Lions District Governor Chandi Prasad Aryal said that the best player will get 14 thousand 444 rupees and the best player will get 8 thousand 444 rupees. The final of the ongoing competition organized by Lions International District 325 M Nepal will be held on Monday.
