Iran's Iranian volleyball team has reached the semi-finals of the 1st Lions Cup International Invitational Volleyball Tournament in Pokhara. The Iranian team reached the semi-finals by defeating Gandaki Province 3-1 in the multi-purpose covered hall at Pokhara Stadium on Friday. The Iranian team won the first set 25-14.
Gandaki came back in the second set and won 25-17. The Iranian team won the third set 25-18 and the fourth set 27-25 in their favor. The Iranian team earlier defeated the Armed Police Force (APF) 3-1 in the opening match on Thursday. The final match under Group 'A' will be between Gandaki Province and APF. The team that wins the game on Saturday will enter the semi-finals from Group A.
Friday's second match continues between the Indian team and Tribhuvan Army Club under Group 'B'. The Indian team was defeated by Nepal Police in straight sets on Thursday. If they lose this match, the Indian team will be out of the tournament. If Army wins, Army will reach the semi-finals. Army's first game. If the Indian team wins the match, there will be a possibility of reaching the semi-finals.
Lions International District 325 M Nepal organized the competition which started from Thursday, 6 teams are participating. Group A consists of Irani team, APF and Gandaki Province. Group 'B' has Indian team, Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club. The top two teams from both groups will play the semi-finals. The winner will get 4 lakh 44 thousand 444 and the runner-up will get a trophy, medal and certificate along with 2 lakh 44 thousand 444. The third place team will get a trophy, medal and certificate along with 1 lakh 44 thousand 444 rupees.
Lions District Governor Chandi Prasad Aryal informed that Rs. 14,444 will be given to the best players and Rs. 8,444 to the best players. The final will be held on May 22.
