Kathmandu District Cricket Association is going to organize the second edition of Jayakumar Nath Shah Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament from May 22-29.
This tournament has been started since last year in memory of former President of Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) and known as Bhishmapita Jayakumar Nath Shah. The games will be held at the lower and upper grounds of Mulpani and the Trivi Grounds in Kirtipur. According to the association, the
tournament has been taken as a qualifying tournament for this year's ACC Men's U-16 Eastzone Cup. Players who perform best in the
competition will be given a place in the team of Kathmandu district and will be given an opportunity to be selected for the national U-16 team of Nepal. As it is a school level competition, it is expected that the age test for the U-16 team will also be done properly.
Last year, Sainik Residential College was the winner and Mokshada School was the runner-up in the competition. This year, 21 schools will participate and they have been divided into 7 groups, according to the organizers.

are Radiant Readers, Mokshada, Ratnarajya, Wisdom Academy, Valley Public, Angel Hearts, Galaxy Public, AP School, Akshara School, Peak Point, Nepal Police School, Triyog High School, Creative Academy, Gateway Academy, Sankruti, Sainik Residential, Nexus Academy, James, DAV Sushil Kedia and LRI School. The
winner will get 150,000, the runner-up will get 75,000, the best player will get 10,000, and the best in the category will get 5,000. Player of the match for each game will get 1. According to the organizers, the estimated cost of the
competition is 16 lakh 35 thousand. Babu Adventure Paragliding Pvt Ltd is the main sponsor and Ayush International Overseas is the co-sponsor.
