The Nepali women's national roller derby team, which went to India's Punjab, has returned to Kathmandu in preparation for the 20th Asian Roller Skating Tournament to be held in Incheon City, South Korea from July 1-3.
The team participated in closed training from April 18-28. For the competition in Korea. The women's team, which has been preparing for 6 months in Nepal, has gone to India for further preparation.
According to the head coach of roller derby, Dilipraj Baral, since roller skating is a game with great potential in Nepal, preparations are being made to win a medal in the Asian Championship. During the training, coaches Baral, Sandeep Bhatnagar, Elian French had a deep discussion about the possibilities and promotion development of skate sports in Asia. Players Kripa Pant, Presika Bohra, Nayana Shakya, Prasuna Lama, Ayushma Thakuri, Nimisha Tamang, Pasang Yangji Sherpa, Yogina Shrestha and Suchina Bhaju participated in the
training. Sanju Shrestha was the team manager and Vikas Lama was the official.
Trainer Baral and General Secretary Satya Thapa, who are advisors of Nepal Skate and Skateboarding Association, helped in the management of movement of players.
Khadak Rawat, Head of Ghodaghodi Municipality of Kailali, welcomed the returning team through Gaddachouki in Kanchanpur. Nepal Skate and Skateboarding Association President Achyut Khanal welcomed them at Kathmandu Airport on Wednesday evening.
