Lions Cup Volleyball: Police easily beat Indian team

Nepal Police Club has won the second match of the first Lions Cup International Invitational Men's Volleyball Tournament in Pokhara from Thursday.

Police defeated the Indian team in straight sets by 3-0 in the multi-purpose covered hall at Pokhara stadium. In the match under Group B, Police won the first set 25-23, the second set 25-16 and the third set 25-20. 

The Iranian volleyball team won the opening match of the first international level indoor volleyball tournament held in Pokhara. In the group 'A' match, the team defeated the Armed Police Force (APF) with a score of 3-1.

Lions International District 325 M Nepal has 6 teams participating in the first competition. Group A consists of Irani team, APF and Gandaki Province. Group 'B' has Indian team, Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club. The top two teams from both groups will play the semi-finals. 

Friday, the first match of Group A will be between the Iranian volleyball team and Gandaki Province. In the second match, the Indian team and Tribhuvan Army Club will meet.  

winner will get 4 lakh 44 thousand 444 and runner-up will get trophy, medal and certificate along with 2 lakh 44 thousand 444. The third place team will get a trophy, medal and certificate along with 1 lakh 44 thousand 444 rupees. 

Lions District Governor Chandi Prasad Aryal informed that Rs. 14,444 will be given to the best players and Rs. 8,444 to the best players. The final will be held on May 22.
