For the purpose of promoting National Sports Volleyball and Peyton, an international level indoor volleyball tournament is going to be held in Pokhara for the first time.

Lions International District 325 M Nepal is organizing the first Lions Cup International Volleyball Tournament from Thursday.

The district governor of Lions, Chandi Prasad Aryal, who will participate in the competition with 2 foreigners, informed the press conference held on Tuesday.

Teams from 3 departments, Gandaki Province, India and Iran will participate in the competition. The league will be played by dividing the participating 6 teams into 2 groups. After the league, the top two teams from both groups will play the semi-finals. Aryal said that all the preparations for the competition, including lighting in the covered hall to make it according to international standards, have reached the final stage.

winner will get 4 lakh 44 thousand 444 rupees, runner-up will get 2 lakh 44 thousand 444 rupees along with trophy, medal and certificate. 14 thousand 444 will be awarded to the best player and 8 thousand 444 rupees will be awarded to all the best in the category.  The

finale will be held on May 22. Spectators will be charged Rs 300 to Rs 500 for tickets to watch the competition. Tickets are priced at Rs 300 for the first, second and third days, Rs 400 for the fourth day, semi-finals and Rs 500 for the finals. 

The covered hall has the capacity of 3 thousand spectators to watch the game simultaneously. Organizers estimate that the tournament will cost Rs 80 lakh. Organizers said that the amount will be collected from ticket sales and sponsors.
