Pradeep Khadka and Sakshamvikram Shah reached the men's singles quarterfinals of the 11th Citizens Bank Tennis Tournament on Wednesday. Pradeep defeated Somaj Shrestha 6-0, 6-0 and Saksham defeated Abhinay Achami 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets.
In men's singles, Rajveer Pradhan defeated Nischal Kayastha 6-0, 6-2, Aravsamrat Hada defeated Sandesh Adhikari 6-0, 6-0, Pranav Khanal defeated Darshil Shrestha 7-5, 6-3, Nishan Shrestha defeated Sarvesh Khanal 6-0, 6-0, Nihaljung Thapa defeated Boris Adhikari 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 and Pritam Pariyar defeated Sonam Sherpa. He lost in the set 6-3, 6-4 and made it to the quarterfinals. In the
mixed doubles, the duo of Abhilasha Bishta and Aravsamrat secured their spot in the semi-finals by defeating the pair of Indrakala Shrestha and Harsingh Dhami in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
Citizens Bank's main sponsor and veterans of the tournament organized by Kathmandu District Tennis Association, Degendra Shrestha and Mahesh Shrestha's duo of Rohit Sunuwar and Ibrahim Muslim 7-5, 6-2 and Kamal Bhandari and Sumit Mainali's pair defeated Man Bahadur Katuwal and Himal Shah's pair 6-1, 6-4 in men's doubles over 45 years of age, confirmed their place in the finals.
Veteran over 35 men's singles Jitendra Periyar, Samdup Lama, Gagan Maharjan, Seemant Gurung, Bhishmanjung Gurung, Sameer Gurung, Sovit Gauchan and Santosh Khatri reached the quarterfinals by winning their respective matches. Walter Smith, Namlang Tenjin, Vidur Bishta and Dhruva Bahadur Gurung decided the semi-finals in men's singles over 65 years.
Veterans Over 45 men's singles Kamal Bahadur Bhandari, Dev Chhetri, Matt Brossard, Mahesh Shrestha, Chhewang Lama, Man Bahadur Katuwal, Megendra Prakash Giri and Rohit Sunuwar confirmed their place in the quarterfinals. Pradeep Shah, Raju Rai and Chandra Shahi have reached the quarterfinals in men's singles over 55 years.
