Nepali judo player Devkimaya Shrestha lost to Mongolia's Nandin Irdine Magmarsuren in the Asian Judo Championship.
Women's Under 52kg Devaki lost to bronze medalist Nandin on points basis. Coach Mohan Sunuwar said that Devki, who played the whole time with an excellent performance, was defeated by a golden score.
Bandi Sahayata Niog (PAM) product Devki is ranked 304th in the world and Nandin is ranked 75th.
6 players from Nepal along with Devaki participated in the tournament held in Bangkok, Thailand from April 25-27. Olympian Manita Shrestha Pradhan in the women's under 57 kg category defeated the Philippine player in the first round and was defeated by the Kazakhstan player in the second round. Ranjana Khadka lost to the Indian player in women's under 70 kg category.
Men's under 60 kg Bikas Bik reached the second round after defeating players from Turkmenistan, but there he was defeated by players from Bahrain. Under 66 kg special Bik lost to Turkmenistan and under 90 kg Vipin Tamang lost to Vietnamese players.
