Prem Bahadur Bhandari, an old athlete and taekwondo coach of the district, was honored in Kathmandu on Saturday. In the closing program of the 1st Sher Bahadur Cup National Karate Tournament-2082, Bhandari was honored by the organizing committee at the Karate Academy for his contribution to the field of sports through Taekwondo.

On Saturday, former Deputy Prime Minister and Acting President of Congress Purna Bahadur Khadka, Youth and Sports Minister Meenkrishna Maharjan of Wagmati Province and others honored him by handing over letters of appreciation. 

Bhandari, who has been involved in taekwondo since 2047, has won national and international gold and many medals. He is a member of the Youth Committee of the Asian Taekwondo Federation and is also the president of Nepal Taekwondo Association Sindhupalchok and the founder of Gothatar Taekwondo Dojang in Kathmandu.
