Tikathali Boxing Club was inaugurated on Saturday in Changathali located in Mahalakshmi Municipality-7. Mahalakshmi Municipality Mayor Harigobind Shrestha inaugurated the club.
Baburaj Maharjan, Chairman of Mahalakshmi Municipality Ward 7, said that the cost of the two-storied building built on an area of 3 annas and 2 paisa is 52 lakh rupees. Chairman Maharjan informed that the remaining 1 floor will be constructed in 2082/83. South Asian Games gold winners Ramchandra Thapa, Prabhu Das, Vinod Kunwar and Suvarna Sapkota are among the coaches of
club.
On the occasion of the inauguration, Lal Bahadur Maharjan who donated land for the construction of the club and Ashta Kawe, Shyam Kawe, Madhusudan Budhathoki and Umesh Rizal who supported the club with sports equipment were honoured. Mahalakshmi Municipality Deputy Mayor Lakshmi Maharjan, Training and Training Department Director Bishnu Bahadur Singh, Nepal Boxing Association General Secretary Man Bahadur Bhandari, Boxing Chief Coach Praveen Tuladhar participated in the
event.
