Kathmandu University's first running shield sports competition has ended on Friday. Apart from 7 faculties of the university, players from different campuses participated in the competition. Cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, chess, athletics events were held in the competition.

The School of Medical Sciences, which received the most 11 gold medals, won the Running Shield. The same faculty won gold medals in women's 100m, men's 100m and 200m races, high jump, men's long jump, women's table tennis, women's volleyball, men's volleyball, women's cricket and men's cricket.

School of Law finished second with 8 golds. This faculty won gold medals in women's 200m, 400m, 800m and 5000m races, badminton, chess, football and men's chess.

School of Management won the third place with 4 golds. This faculty won gold medals in men's 800m race, women's shot put, men's table tennis and men's basketball. School of Science won 2, Manipal College 2, School of Engineering 1, School of Arts 1 and Virat Medical College won 1 gold medal. About 2,000 players participated in the

competition. Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, Kathmandu University Vice-Chancellor Prada Achyut Wagle and others presented medals and certificates to the winners. . The competition was organized by the Student Welfare Council.
