Nepal Police Club won three gold medals in the first Sher Bahadur Deuba Cup National Karate Tournament on Thursday. Police's Sonim Manandhar won double gold.

Police won 3 golds and Tribhuvan Army Club won 1 gold in the four events of Kata. Sonim won the individual kata. Manish Karki of APF came second and Vasant Tharu of Lumbini and Vinay Limbu of Army came third.

It was the police who won gold in the men's team kata. The team consisting of Swanim Manandhar, Furten Tamang and Jagat Singh Dhanuk won the gold. APF came second and Bagmati and Sudurpaschim Province combined came third.

Police's Alyssa Rascotti Magar won gold in the women's individual kata. Army's Sanumaya Thing won silver and APF's Sanju Desar and Koshi's Salina Joshi won bronze. The women's team of Sanumaya Thing, Sangita Magar and Sunita Sunar of Golden Army of Kata won. Far West was second. Gandaki and Koshi states took the third place.

APF's Sonam Sherpa won gold in the women's 55 kg category. She defeated Porsia Chaudhary of Madhesh Pradesh in the final.  

86 men and 75 women are participating in the tournament organized by Yal Karate Sitoryo Do and State Sports Development Council Bagmati.
