The third edition of the Manmohan Memorial (MM) One Day National Cricket Tournament, which was being held at Inaruwa in Sunsari due to lack of ground, will be held in Biratnagar. According to MM Cup Foundation Sunsari, the tournament will be held from May 13 to 20 at the Girija Prasad Koirala Cricket Stadium in Baijnathpur, Biratnagar.
Biplav Ghosh, president of the foundation, informed that the competition had to be held in Biratnagar as Bhadragol had been lying vacant for a long time in the name of repairing the prison field stadium in Inaruwa.
Six teams including one Indian will participate in the 50-over one-day cricket tournament. Ghosh, president of the foundation, said that departmental teams Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club and APF Club, Assam Cricket Team and Koshi and Bagmati Province Team will participate in the competition. According to the organizers, the winner of the
competition will be given 4 lakh and the runner-up will be given 2 lakh. 25,000 will be awarded to the best player, 15,000 each to the best batsman and bowler. 4,000 will be given to the player of the match. Organizers estimate that one crore rupees will be spent to complete the
competition. Tribhuvan Army Club was the consecutive winner in the first and second edition of the competition organized by the foundation earlier. Although 12-12 teams participated in the first and second editions of the competition, this time only 6 teams participated due to lack of time, according to the organizers.
