The All Nepal Table Tennis Association is going to hold the South Asian Youth Table Tennis Tournament from Thursday.

85 athletes from 6 countries including Nepal will participate in the tournament, said Kuveraprakash Singh, Secretary General of the organizing association at a press conference on Tuesday. All South Asian countries except Bhutan will participate.

The four-day tournament to be held according to the annual calendar of the Asian Table Tennis Union will be held in the hall of the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lanchaur. U-19 and U-15 age groups will compete for 14 gold medals in team event, singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Table tennis chief coach Mohandas Basukla said that the

tournament is a selection for the Asian Junior Table Tennis to be held in Uzbekistan. Basukala said that the first and second teams in the U-19 team competition will be automatically selected for Asian Junior Table Tennis. In the case of countries that are unable to achieve this achievement, each country will be given a quota of 1-1 male and female players in the U-15 age group for participation through wild cards. The president of the

organizing association, Brijendra Bahadur Hamal, expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported the competition.
