Narayan Sports Club Kanchanpur has won the title of the first edition of the 'Senior Sanskar Cricket Tournament' held on Tuesday at Phapla Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi. Narayan Club won the title by defeating Youth of Tikapur by 5 wickets.
With the win, Narayan Sports won 111,111 cash prizes. The runner-up Youth of Tikapur received 55 thousand 555 cash. After winning the
toss, Youth of Tikapur, who chose to bat first, lost all wickets in 13.4 overs and were bundled out for 78 runs. For Tikapur, except for Sudip Saud scoring 16 runs and Dinesh Raut scoring 10 runs, the performance of other batsmen was disappointing. Narayan Club's Nehal Das and Sachin Bhatt took 3/3 wickets to stop Tikapur cheaply.
Narayan Sports completed the small target of 79 runs by losing 5 wickets after playing 12 overs. For him, Rahul Chand played an unbeaten innings of 17 runs and Sunil Chand 16 runs. On the bowling side, Sagar Rawal of Tikapur Youth took 3 wickets.
13 teams participated in the competition which started from Chait 30 in the organization of Sanskar Vidyashram located in Godavari Municipality - 8 of Kailali. Sachin Bhatt of Narayan Sports was declared the best player of the final match. Similarly, Sumit Budal of Narayan Sports was declared the best player of the tournament, Anil Rawal of Sanskar Vidyashram was declared the emerging player and Rahul Bhandari of Narayan Sports was declared the best player of the tournament.
The chief guest of the closing program of the Sudurpaschim Province Chief Nazir Mian and other guests gave prizes and trophies to the players of the winning and runner-up teams.
The chairman of the organizing committee, Ramchandra Shahi, informed that the goal is to continue this competition in the future.
