Due to adverse weather conditions, Nepal has to face disappointment in the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia qualifiers. Decisive match between Nepal and Afghanistan will be played on Saturday.
Nepal is under pressure to win this match to reach the ICC U-19 World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia next year.
Afghanistan will also get a draw. But there is no possibility of playing the game in Mulpani since Friday. Mulpani cricket ground is completely soaked by rain and the water is frozen, so there is no possibility of conducting the game. The light rain has not stopped yet.
was scheduled to be tossed at 9 am. But half of the field including the pitch is completely covered with a cover. There should be at least a 20-20 over game for the result to come.
For that, the game should start at least at 2.30 pm. In the current situation, that possibility seems very difficult.
Nepal and Afghanistan have reached the decisive stage after winning the first 3 matches. But Afghanistan is much higher than Nepal in run rate. This tournament including Nepal, Oman, UAE, Afghanistan and Hong Kong is being held on a round robin basis and the winning team is expected to reach the ICC U-19 World Cup.
Nepal defeated Afghanistan by 1 wicket in the ICC U-19 World Cup in South Africa last year. After that, Nepal won against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup held in UAE in November. In this tournament, Nepal and Afghanistan U-19 played a series of three matches, in which Afghanistan won 2-1.
