The stadium has been confirmed for the Lumbini Cup International Invitational Women's Football. After the 8th National Games, the big tournament is going to be held at Nepalgunj Stadium, so the local players and football fans are happy. The organizer Antral believes that the
tournament will help in the production of new players. Since the international level competition was going to be held, the decoration of the stadium had started a few months ago. The stadium has now become green due to regular watering. The executive director of tournament organizer Antral, Jainarayan Shah, said that all the work for the tournament to be held from May 5 to 12, including stadium cleaning, painting, player accommodation, and transportation arrangements, has been completed.
Lumbini Cup women's football is going to be held for the first time in this stadium, which does not even have regular practice. Nepalgunj Stadium was getting dilapidated due to lack of proper budget for cleaning and maintenance.
Even though the name of the 400,000 bermuda trees planted during the 8th National Games has been erased, the stadium has been made an archetype by growing local trees during daily maintenance.
According to Shah, ticket sales, parking management, player accommodation and transportation have been managed. Promotion coordinator Neeraj Gautam said that the team participating in the competition is about to arrive in Nepalgunj. 8 teams including home team Banke-11, APF, Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Karnali FC, Sudurpaschim FC, Siliguri Football Club, Rautahat District Football Association will compete in the tournament coordinated by Banke District Football Association. The winner will get a prize of 5 lakh 5 thousand 555.
