Home team Gandaki Heroes has won the title of the second edition of KP Oli Cup National Open T20 cricket tournament.

Gandaki Heroes defeated CEC Kathmandu by 5 wickets in the final held at Pokhara Cricket Ground on Friday. Along with the title, Gandaki received Rs 10 lakh, runner-up Kathmandu got Rs 5 lakh, trophy, medal and certificate. Having a target of 183 runs, Gandaki scored 185 runs after losing 5 wickets in 17.3 overs. Kiran Thaguna scored 52 runs. He hit 3 fours and 4 sixes off 26 balls. Sujan Thapalia was out for 35 runs. He hit 6 fours in 21 balls. Deepak Dumre 26, opener Sakiv Hook was dismissed for 24 runs. 

Gandaki's Basant Karki 27 and Narayan Joshi remained not out for 13 runs. Arjun Kumal could not score a run. For Kathmandu, Dipendra Rawat took 3 wickets, Manoj Yadav and Surya Tamang took 1 each. 

After winning the toss, Kathmandu started batting and scored 182 runs in 19.4 overs. Arjun Gharti scored the highest 68 runs. He hit 4 fours and 6 sixes in 34 balls. Prithu Baskota scored a half century. He scored 50 runs in 29 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes. Shivam Tiwari added 23 runs. The other batsmen did not perform well. Dinesh Bohora 8, Sushant Singh Thapa 6, Rit Gautam and Dipendra Rawat 4 each, Surya Tamang 3, Rajendra Bam, Yunishvikram Singh Thakuri were out for 1 run. Manoj Yadav who played 1 ball remained not out. 

For Gandaki, Amrit Gurung and Krishna Paudel took 3-3 each, Bipin Khatri and Milan Bohra took 2-2 wickets each. Kiran Thaguna of Gandaki Heroes was declared the player of the match. He got 5 thousand rupees and a trophy. 

Dipendra Rawat of Kathmandu was declared the player of the series. He received 30 thousand rupees. Vipin Rawal of Attaria Cricket Academy became the best batsman and Ajay Kumar Chauhan of Lumbini Khukuri Cricket Club became the best bowler. Both received the same 20,000 rupees each and a trophy. 

16 teams participated in the competition which started from Chait 23 under the organization of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. Madhesh province won the title of the first edition of the competition.
