The All Nepal Kabaddi Association (ANKA) is going to organize a bilateral Women's Kabaddi Test Series at Satdobato in Lalitpur. The host Nepal and Bangladesh national teams will compete in it.

On Friday, Kabaddi Association General Secretary Arvind Kumar Jha informed that the five-day series will be played from April 20 to 26 at the Taekwondo Covered Hall in Satdobato.   He said that the concept of Test Kabaddi was introduced at the international level by making an agreement with the Bangladesh Kabaddi Association. According to the agreement, Nepal and Bangladesh will organize three series each in a year. Jha said, 'Nepal's men's team has visited Bangladesh from February 18 to 28 and played a five-day series. Nepal was defeated 4-1.

This will be the first test series played by the national women's kabaddi team. Jha said that the Bangladesh team will arrive in Kathmandu on Saturday.

The women's team won a bronze medal in the team event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. Recalling that Nepal's kabaddi team has achieved historic success in the past few years, Jha said that both the men's and women's teams of Nepal have been in a closed training camp in Mulpani for the past two years.

The women's team is currently third in the global rankings. He said that Nepal is preparing for the Women's Kabaddi World Cup to be held in India from June 1 to 13.

Journalist and model Vibhusha Basnet was appointed as the brand ambassador of Kabaddi for one year. She said, "I hope we can play a role together for the development and promotion of kabaddi."
