The Nepali Women's National Roller Derby Team has gone to India to prepare for the 20th Asian Roller Skating Tournament to be held in Incheon City, South Korea from July 19 to 30. A 10-day bandh will be held in India from April 18 to 28 in Punjab, India.
The players are Kripa Pant, Presika Bohra, Nayana Shakya, Prasuna Lama, Ayushma Thakuri, Nimisha Tamang, Pasang Yangji Sherpa, Yogina Shrestha and Suchina Bhaju. Sanju Shrestha is the team manager and Vikas Lama is the official.
The 11-member Nepali team was bid farewell by Rakhep member secretary Tanklal Ghising, board member Kamal Prasad Bhattarai and president of Nepal Skate and Skateboarding Association Achyut Khanal. Satya Thapa, the general secretary of the association said that the women's team, which has been preparing for 6 months in Nepal, went to India for further preparation.
Nepali women's roller team is co-sponsored by Yeti Airlines. As the roller skating game has a lot of potential in Nepal, it has been prepared so that the roller derby team can win a medal for Nepal in the Asian Championship, said the head coach of roller derby, Dilipraj Baral.
