Janakpur Sunrisers and Mithila Wires won two matches in the third Madhesh Premier League (MPL) on Thursday. Janakpur beat Chinnamasta Rupani Madhesh Riders by 2 wickets in the first match at the local Pavi Mavi ground.
Riders scored 113 runs after losing 9 wickets in scheduled 20 overs. Dipesh Das scored 28, Abhishek Karki scored 21, Shankar Rana scored 17, Rohan Bick scored 12, Santosh Kakir scored 11 runs. Tul Bahadur Magar of Sunrisers took 3, Vishal Susling 2, Vishal Patel, Arif Sekh and Rupesh Yadav took 1 wicket each. In the
reply, Janakpur crossed the target by losing 8 wickets in 15.3 overs. Vishal Patel 32, Akhil Shravan 24, Vishal Susling, Mayan Yadav and Adil Khan added 12 runs each. Dinesh Adhikari, Abhishek Karki, Diwan Pun took 2 wickets each and Hemant Dhami took one wicket from Chinnamasta Rupani. Player of the match was Vishal Kumar Patel.
In the second match, Mithila Wires won by 14 runs over Kathmandu Royals. Batting first, Wires scored 158 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Sumit Maharjan contributed 53, Ravi Sah 30, Dipendra Singh Airi 23 unbeaten, Vasant Khatri 14 and Basir Ahmed contributed 10 runs. Royals' Amit Shrestha 3, Ramnaresh Giri 2, Rupesh Singh, Dipesh Shrestha and Naren Saud took 1 wicket each. In reply batting, Royals played 20 overs and managed to score only 144 runs with the loss of 9 wickets. On Friday, there will be a competition between Koshi Duhabi Capital and Saptari Balan Bihul and Janakpur Sunrisers and Mithila Wires.
