Cricket Excellence Center (CEC) Kathmandu and Gandaki Heroes have entered the finals of the ongoing KP Oli Cup National Open T20 cricket tournament in Pokhara.
Kathmandu Himal Friends Cricket Academy and Gandaki Heroes defeated Attaria Cricket Academy in the match held at Pokhara Cricket Ground on Thursday. Kathmandu won by 10 runs as the first semi-final was played after 5 overs after rain. The second semi-final was won by Gandaki through toss.
Himal Friends, chasing a target of 58 runs, lost 3 wickets in the scheduled 5 overs and were reduced to 47 runs. Himal Friends opener Subodh Airi was dismissed for 13 runs. He hit 2 fours in 8 balls. Abhinash Singh was dismissed for 12, Deepak Rokaya for 4 runs. Ashish Tiruva remained not out for 13 runs and Ayuv Chand for 2 runs. For Kathmandu, Manoj Yadav took 2 wickets and Yunish Vikram Singh Thakuri took 1 wicket.
Kathmandu lost the toss and scored 57 runs after losing 1 wicket in 5 overs. Opener Rit Gautam was retired after scoring 28 runs. Leaving the field without informing the umpire to allow another player to play is retired hurt out. He hit 3 fours in 17 balls before getting out. Arjun Gharti remained not out for 13 and Dipendra Rawat for 8 runs. Manoj Yadav of Kathmandu became the player of the match. He received a trophy award with 5 thousand rupees.
In the second semi-final, Attaria Cricket Academy had a great start. After losing the toss, Attaria started batting and scored 146 runs after losing 4 wickets in 13.3 overs. The game was stopped due to rain. Gandaki entered the final when it was decided by toss.
Bipin Rawal's performance from Attaria was excellent. He played 33 balls and scored 72 runs. He hit 12 fours and 2 sixes. Khagendra Joshi was dismissed for 20, Abhishek Pal for 19 and Nischal Chhetri for 9 runs. Tech Rawat was not out for 10 runs. Milan Bohora took 3 wickets in 3 overs for Gandaki Heroes. Narayan Joshi took 1 wicket.
organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, the final of the tournament, which has been going on since Chait 23, will be held on Friday at 9 am. The winner will get a trophy, medal and certificate along with Rs. 10 lakh, runner-up will get Rs. 5 lakh.
