Attaria Cricket Academy has entered the semi-finals of the second edition of the KP Oli Cup National Open T20 Cricket Tournament in Pokhara.
After defeating Malpokhari Cricket Club in the last match of the group stage held at the Pokhara Cricket Ground on Wednesday, Attaria secured a place in the last four. Attaria defeated Malpokhari by 6 wickets in Group D match.
Chasing the target of 125 runs, Attaria scored 128 runs by losing 4 wickets in 14.1 overs. Opener Abhishek Pal scored 38 runs for Attaria. He hit 5 fours and 2 sixes and got run out. Nischal Chhetri scored 30 runs, Bipin Rawal scored 16 runs, Tek Rawat scored 14 runs, Arjun Vick scored 12 runs and Khagendra Joshi scored 4 runs. Nischal and Arjun remained not out. Malpokhari's Sandeep Khadka, Siraj Hawari and W Malik took 1 wicket each.
After losing the toss, Malpokhari started batting and scored 124 runs in 17.4 overs. Vijay Gupta of Malpokhari scored 38 runs. He played 36 balls and hit 5 fours and 1 six. W Malik and Jitesh Mandal scored 17 each, Sohan Kumar Yadav scored 16, Siraj Hawari scored 13, Akil Khan scored 9, Ranveer Yadav scored 2 and Sandeep Khadka scored 1. Akil remained not out while Sandeep was run out. Atish Das, Chandan Yadav and Pankaj Yadav failed to score runs. Attaria's Arjun Wick, Hikmat Mahar, Sourya Shrestha, Sushil Saud took 2-2 and Bhojraj Bhatt took 1 wicket.
In the next match of the group stage, Horizon Cricket Club defeated Sunderharancha Cricket Club by 7 wickets. Having a target of 140 runs, Horizon found the target by losing 3 wickets in 12.3 overs. For Horizon, Arif Khan scored 80 runs off 33 balls with the help of 6 fours and 8 sixes. Amar Mishra remained not out for 37 runs. Nischal Gyawali was dismissed for 10 runs and Suman Pandey for 1 run. Amar Bista who played 4 balls remained not out for 2 runs. Prakash Karki, Ayush Dangel and Ritesh Rai took 1 wicket each for Sundararaincha.
Sundarharaincha, who started batting after losing the toss, scored 139 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Manish Thapa scored the highest 47 runs for him. He hit 3 fours and 3 sixes off 28 balls. Ritesh Rai and Sameer Karki scored 23-23, Om Bahadur Kunwar and Mrinal Gurung scored 13-13, Gaurav Katwal scored 4, Sandeep Dhungana and Ayush Dhungel scored 1-1. In Wednesday's match Arjun Vick of Attaria and Arif Khan of Horizon became the best players. They got a trophy award with 5 thousand rupees each. Attaria won all 3 matches and reached the semi-finals by being on top of Group D. Horizon, who won 2 matches and lost 1 match, came second with 4 points, Malpokhari, who won 1 match, came third. Having lost all 3 games, Sunderharancha remained at the bottom of the points table. In the
competition, CEC Kathmandu, Gandaki Heroes and Himal Friends have entered the semi-finals. Kathmandu and Himal Friends will play in the first semi-final on Thursday, while Gandaki and Attaria will play in the second semi-final. The final of the 16-team tournament organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy will be held on Friday. The winner will get Rs 10 lakh, the runner-up will get Rs 5 lakh along with a trophy, medal and certificate.
