Champion Martial Arts Club America honored karate player Mohammed Sheikhu Alam with cash. District 30 Assembly Member Steven Raga presented Shekhu with 1,000 US dollars and a certificate of appreciation.

Shekhu is in America to compete in the USA Open Karate Tournament. Shekhu will compete in the men's under-84kg category at the event, which will be held in Las Vegas from April 18 to 20. Sheikhu has won 5 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals in 14 international competitions of his career. Sheikhu has won 9 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals in the same domestic competition.

Nepali community leader Navraj KC, karate trainers Makendra Bahadur Singh and Janaksingh Khadka, taekwondo trainer Pushpa Thapa Magar and others participated. Martial Arts Club USA, championed by Sunil Lama, the gold winner of the 11th SAG and the president of the club, has been participating in various competitions along with its regular training.
