After Yuvraj Khatri's excellent bowling performance in the second consecutive match, Nepal U-19 got a target of 116 runs to win the match against Hong Kong U-19 in the ACC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier.
After losing the toss at Lower Moolpani Cricket Ground, Hong Kong came in to bat and were bowled out for only 115 runs after playing 46.2 overs. Leg spinner Yuvraj, who took 5 wickets for 17 runs in the previous match against UAE, also destroyed Hong Kong's batting after taking 4 wickets on Wednesday.
Yuvraj spent only 18 runs in 10 overs. Shiv Mathur, who scored the highest 63 runs from Hong Kong, was also dismissed by Yuvraj. Mathur played 116 balls and hit 4 fours and 1 six.
opener Panjawani scored 13 runs, Veer Mathur scored 12 runs and Hryari Thomas Hedson scored 10 runs. As the only change in the Nepali team, Vipin Sharma, who replaced fast bowler Dayanand Mandal, was played. Bipin, who was selected as an emerging player in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket which concluded four months ago, took 3 wickets while playing the first match in the tournament. Nepal has already won the first two matches. Nepal defeated UAE by 5 runs in the first match and won the second match against Oman by 8 wickets. Hong Kong was bowled out for 90 runs in the first match and lost to Afghanistan by 8 wickets.
Afghanistan has also won the first two matches. Nepal, Oman, UAE Afghanistan and Hong Kong will be held on a round robin basis and the winning team will qualify for the ICC U-19 World Cup.
