The 7th NECOS International Judo Tournament will be held from Thursday under the joint initiative of Nepal Sports Federation (NECOS) and National Judo Association of Nepal.

250 athletes from various districts/clubs of Nepal, including Bhutan and Thailand, will participate in the tournament on Tuesday, President of the National Judo Association of Nepal, Dharma Kumar Shrestha, said in a press conference on Tuesday.

Under 21 players will compete in 12 weight groups for men and 11 for women. The finals of the 11th and 12th competitions will be held on May 4 and May 5.

During the same competition, the first para judo competition will also be held in the joint project of Nepal Deaf and Blind Para Judo Association along with Nekos and National Judo Association. Games will be played in the weight group under 60 kg for men and under 52 kg for women.

President Shrestha said that the players who will participate in the Deaf Olympics in Japan in November will be selected from the competitions included in this competition. The two-day tournament will be played at the Multipurpose Martial Arts Center in Khushibu.
