Attaria Cricket Academy and Malpokhari Cricket Club have won the second edition of KP Oli Cup National Open Twenty-20 cricket tournament in Pokhara.
Under the organization of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, Attaria and Malpokhari won Tuesday's match under group 'D' of the ongoing tournament at Pokhara Rangshala cricket ground. Attaria defeated Horizon Cricket Club and Malpokhari defeated Sundararaincha Cricket Club by 4-4 wickets.
Attaria, who had a target of 140 runs, scored 141 runs losing 6 wickets in 18.2 overs. Tek Rawat scored the highest 61 runs. He remained unbeaten hitting 9 fours and 1 six off 42 balls. Bipin Rawal scored 26, Arjun Wick 16, Hikmat Mahar 13, Khagendra Joshi 8, Nischal Chhetri 5, Basant Khatri 1. Opener Abhishek Pal, who played 3 balls, could not score a run. For Horizon, Tul Bahadur Thapa and Shubham Khanal took 2/2 and Mahesh Bhar and Nirmal Gurung took 1 each.
Horizon lost the toss and scored 140 runs in 19.1 overs after losing 10 wickets. Horizon didn't get off to a good start. Horizon lost both openers for nil. Kamal Bisht scored 39 runs for Horizon. He got out after hitting 3 fours and 1 six off 46 balls. Biperson KC remained not out on 35 runs. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in 15 balls. In the second match, Malpokhari, who had a winning target of 129 runs, scored 131 runs by losing 6 wickets in 17.3 overs. Vijay Gupta scored 59 runs for Malpokhari. He hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in 46 balls and was run out. Ranveer Yadav 14, Sohankumar Yadav 13, W Malik 10, Atish Das got out for 9 runs. Chandan Yadav and Ashish Sigdel remained not out at 4-4 runs. Jitesh Mandal, who faced 4 balls, could not score a run. Samir Karki of Sundarharaincha took 2 wickets, Sandeep Dhungana, Prakash Karki and Omkar Yadav took 1 wicket each.
After winning the toss, Sunderharancha started batting and was bowled out for 128 runs in 20 overs. Sameer Karki scored the most 31 runs. He hit 2 fours and 3 sixes in 19 balls. Mrinal Gurung 19, Rupak Baral 17, Gaurab Katwal and Sandeep Dhungana 14-14, Manish Thapa 10, Rohan Shah 5, Sameer Timsina 2, Ritesh Rai and Omkar Yadav were out for 1-1 runs. For Malpokhari, Siraj Hawari and Jitesh Mandal took 2-2, Sandeep Khadka, Pankaj Yadav and Sohankumar Yadav took 1-1 each.
Tek Rawat of Attaria and Vijay Gupta of Malpokhari were the players of the match in Tuesday's match. They got a trophy with 5 thousand rupees each. After winning 2 matches in a row, Attaria has climbed to the top position of Group D with 4 points. Horizon is second with 2 points from 2 matches with 1 win and 1 loss.
After winning 1 match out of 2, Attaria is in third place . Even though the points are equal, Horizon managed to stay in the second place based on the net run rate . Having lost both matches, Sunderharancha is at the bottom of the table with no points. Horizon and Sundarharaincha, Attaria and Malpokhari will play in the final match of the group stage on Wednesday.
