Despite the bravery of Basir Ahmed and Nandan Yadav, Nepal lost to Kuwait by 3 runs in the final of the four-nation Twenty20 cricket tournament. Nepal, which came with a target of 175 runs in the tournament being held in Hong Kong, had already lost 8 wickets after scoring 92 runs in 14 overs.

Nepal was challenged to score 83 runs in the remaining 36 balls. From here, after Basir and Nandan shared 72 runs in 28 balls in the ninth wicket, Nepal came close to victory. Anudeep Chenthamra of Kuwait took 3 wickets. He spent only 18 runs in 2.3 overs while taking wickets with Basir. Yasin Patel and Navinraj Rajendran took 2 wickets each.

Kuwait, who came into bat after losing the toss, made a strong start, but the team collapsed in the end. Opener Ravija Sandaruwan scored 63 runs off 36 balls. He hit 6 fours and 4 sixes. Clint Anto 26, Meet Bhavsar 16, Usman Patel 23, Mohammad Umar 7, Bilal Tahir got out for 9 runs while captain Mohammad Aslam scored 13 runs off 15 balls.
