KP Oli Cup: Attaria and Horizon won

Attaria Cricket Academy and Horizon Cricket Club won the second edition of KP Oli Cup National Open T-20 cricket tournament in Pokhara. Attaria defeated Sundararaincha Cricket Club and Horizon defeated Malpokhari Cricket Club in the group 'D' match held at Pokhara Cricket Ground on Monday. Attaria won by 1 wicket and Horizon won by 42 runs.

Sundarharaincha lost the toss and started batting and scored 135 runs after losing 6 wickets in 17 overs. Sandeep Dhungana scored the highest 30 runs and was run out. He hit 4 fours and 1 six off 24 balls. Sameer Karki scored 26, Omkar Yadav 23, Manish Thapa 20, Gaurav Katwal 17, Mrinal Gurung 5, Ritesh Rai 4. For Attaria, Arjun Vick took 2 wickets, Basant Khatri and Bhojraj Bhatt took 1 each. 

In reply batting, Attaria scored 141 runs in 16.3 overs in the scheduled 17 overs match. Opener Abhishek Pal scored a half-century for Attaria. He scored 53 runs in 40 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. Vipin Rawal scored 46 runs. He hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in 27 balls. Tech Rawat remained not out for 24 runs. Nischal Chhetri scored 4 runs, Arjun Vick scored 3 runs and Khagendra Joshi scored 1 run. Basant Khatri, Abhishek Koirala, Sushil Saud and Bhojraj Bhatt failed to score runs. Sandeep Dhungana, Prakash Karki and Sameer Karki of Sundararaincha took 3 wickets each. 

Although Sundararaincha performed very well in bowling after 10 overs, he could not stop Attaria. Sundararaincha took the wicket of Attaria opener Abhishek Pal in the last ball of the 10th over. When the 11th over started, Attaria scored 108 runs after losing 1 wicket. He needed 28 runs in 6 overs to win. However, Attaria was under pressure after Sundararaincha took one wicket after another. In the last over of the match, Attaria scored 129 runs after losing 9 wickets. Tek Rawat hit 2 sixes in the last over for Attaria who were under a lot of pressure. With this, Attaria was saved from defeat. 

Prakash Karki's bowling of Sundararaincha was memorable. After he took 3 consecutive wickets in the 14th over of the match, Attaria was under pressure.  In the second match, Horizon Cricket Club scored 166 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Kamal Bisht scored the highest 37 runs for Horizon. He played 41 balls and hit 2 fours and 2 sixes. Biperson KC scored 32 runs. He hit 3 sixes in 20 balls. Suman Pandey was run out after scoring 24 runs. Nar Bahadur Sarki scored 18, Nirmal Gurung 13 not out, Amar Mishra 12, Arif Khan 10, opener Nischal Gyawali 1, Tul Bahadur Thapa and Prince Pal also scored 1 each. 

For Malpokhari Cricket Club, Sandeep Khadka and Siraj Hawari took 3 each, Jitesh Mandal and W Malik took 1 each.

Malpokhari, who batted in response, scored 123 runs in 19.4 overs and was bowled out. Vijay Gupta scored 32 runs for Malpokhari. He hit 2 fours and 1 six off 24 balls. W Malik scored 26 runs, Jitesh Mandal scored 25 runs, Chandan Yadav scored 9 runs, Sohan Kumar Yadav scored 8 runs, Ranveer Yadav scored 7 runs, Sandeep Khadka scored 4 runs, Pankaj Yadav scored 2 runs and Ashish Sigdel scored 1 run. For Horizon, Nirmal Gurung, Amar Mishra and Biperson KC and Nischal Gyawali took 2 each, Mahesh Bhar and Prince Pal took 1 each.  With the

win, Attaria and Horizon have added 2 points each. Attaria's Abhishek Pal and Horizon's Biperson KC became player of the match in Monday's match. They got a trophy award with 5 thousand rupees each. In the ongoing tournament organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, Attaria and Horizon and Sundarharaincha and Malpokhari clubs of group 'D' will play on Tuesday.
