Kathmandu Metropolitan City lifted the trophy by winning 5 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals in the 5th Bagmati Provincial Junior Invitational Mayor's Cup Taekwondo Tournament on Saturday.
In the competition organized by Jaisedeval Youth Club, Nagarjuna Municipality came second with 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze . The organizer Jaisedeval, who was in the third place, won 4 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals .
Rahuljang Limbu of Jaisedeval for men and Smarika Shahi Thakuri of Chandragiri municipality were selected as the best players in the Gyorogi section of the competition held in Suchatar. Rozin Prajapati in men and Angela Moktan in women were chosen as the best players for Pooms. Both are from Jaisedeval . The best four received 150 US dollars each. Sujan Khadka of the champion team Kathmandu became the best coach and Bachchan Magar became the best judge in the
coach. Both were awarded $100 each.
The winner was awarded by Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Bahadur Singh Lama, Mayor of Tarkeshwar Municipality Harikrishna Maharjan and others. 435 players from 20 teams, including two from the organizers, competed in 20 different competitions in two tournaments organized under the main sponsorship of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
