AVM's Jayasnu Maharjan and Nepal Police's Shubhshree Shrestha have won gold in the second national open junior and veteran table tennis tournament. On Wednesday, Jayasnu and Shubhashree won the boys' junior U-15 singles.
Jaysnu defeated AVM's Prajil Bhattarai by 3-2 sets in the boys' final at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lanchaur. On the girls' side, Shubhashree defeated Stag Champions Table Tennis Academy's Prajna Maharjan 3-0 in straight sets.
Ikhachen Nishan became the main winner in the over 50 men's singles competition organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. He defeated Prakash Dhakhwa of Kholcha Pukhwa 3-0 in the final.
Himal Bisht of Hopes defeated Dhiraj Oli of his own team by 3-0 and Pravesh Basnet of Stag defeated Samir Khatri of Hopes by 3-0 to set the final match of U-19 boys singles. In the girls of the same event, Ivana Thapa of AVM defeated Sushmita Khadka of Stag 3-1 and Bianka Rai of AVM defeated Diya Deula of Hopes 3-2 sets to decide the title clash.
Coordinator Dharmaman Vajracharya said that the finals of the veteran men's singles over the age of 40 will be held on Thursday along with the finals of two events.
