Nepal's number two golfers Neeraj Tamang and Dhan Bahadur Thapa will compete for the Surya Nepal NPGA match-play golf title. They will compete in 36 holes on Thursday.
Second seed Neeraj defeated defending champion Dinesh Prajapati 3-2 in the semi-finals at Royal Nepal Golf Club on Wednesday. Before that, Neeraj defeated Rame Magar 3-2 in the quarterfinals. Dinesh defeated 11th ranked veteran Toran Vikram Shahi in the 18th hole in the quarterfinals. But after losing to Neeraj in the semi-final, he will play for the third place.
In the second semi-final, eighth ranked Dhan Bahadur defeated fourth ranked Ravi Khadka with a score of 3-2. Dhan scored an unexpected victory over Nepal's number one golfer Bhuvan Nagarkoti in the quarterfinals on the 19th hole. After 18 holes, the match ended in a tie, Dhan won the first extra hole. Earlier, Ravi defeated Pradeep Kumar Lama 3-2 in the quarterfinals. Ravi and Bhuvan will play for the third place. The winner of the
title will win 60,000, the second runner-up will win 42,000, the third runner-up will win 32,000 and the fourth runner-up will win 24,000. The four players who lose in the quarterfinals will receive 11,000. This is the sixth tournament of this season under Surya Nepal Golf Tour.
