Lumbini state level Twenty20 cricket: Dang and Rupandehi will fight for the title

The teams of Dang and Rupandehi are going to fight for the title of Lumbini state level Twenty20 cricket tournament in Dang. The two teams that will play in the finals have been decided after the semi-final matches were over on Wednesday as part of the ongoing competition organized by the Lumbini Sports Council and managed by the Dang District Cricket Association.

Ghorahi-17 Dang defeated Kapilvastu by 6 wickets in the match at Ghorahi Cricket Stadium in Gulria and reached the final. Dang followed the general target of 92 runs given by Kapilvastu and reached the final by completing the target in 17.5 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. 

Captain Sushantsingh Thapa and Dinesh Bohra shared a 29-run opening partnership for Dang and set the foundation for victory. Sushant scored 21 runs in 24 balls with 4 fours and was caught out by Akash Tripathi off Shiv Kumbar. Dinesh Bohra scored 9 runs in 10 balls with 2 fours and was dismissed lbw by Kapilvastu captain Akash Tripathi.

Shishir DC remained unbeaten on 20 runs with 1 six and 1 four off 25 balls, while Hemraj Sapkota contributed 10 runs off 18 balls. When Manoj again got out after scoring 20 runs in 28 balls with 2 fours, Tul Bahadur Thapa won by adding 5 unbeaten runs.

Kapilvastu's Shiv Kunwar took 2 wickets for 8 runs in 4 overs while Akash Tripathi and Raunak Srivastava took 1 wicket each. Kapilvastu, who won the toss and batted first, scored 91 runs losing all wickets in 18.3 overs. Kapilvastu, who lost the first wicket after scoring 24 runs in 5.4 overs, could not handle the middle-order batsmen and was all out after scoring 91 runs.

Mahesh Bhar added 15 unbeaten runs in 7 balls with 3 fours for Kapilvastu. Akash Tripathi scored 14 runs in 13 balls, Anuj Kumar Teli scored 13 runs in 11 balls, Sehbaz Ali scored 12 runs in 18 balls, Ramzan Ali scored 11 runs in 24 balls and Shiv Kuwar scored 10 runs in 16 balls. Dang's Tul Bahadur Thapa destroyed the middle order batsman in

bowling. He spent 13 runs in 3.3 overs and took 4 wickets. Dinesh Bohra took 3 wickets by giving 17 runs with 1 maiden in 4 overs while Shubham Khanal took 2 wickets by giving 13 runs with 1 maiden in 4 overs.  Tul Bahadur Thapa, who contributed significantly to Dang to the final, became the player of the match.

Similarly, Rupandehi has entered the final after defeating Bardia by 7 wickets in the other semi-final held on Wednesday. Rupandehi defeated Bardia by 7 wickets in the match at Deukhuri International Cricket Stadium located in Lamhi-5 and reached the final.

Following the general target of 77 runs given by Bardia, Rupandehi reached the final by completing the target with the loss of 3 wickets in 9 overs.

For Rupandehi, captain Dev Khanal and Mrinal Gurung shared a 33-run opening partnership for the first wicket and set the foundation for victory. Dev Khanal scored 21 runs off 12 balls with 1 six and 3 fours and was dismissed lbw by Sanam Budha.

Mrinal added 25 runs in 23 balls with 5 fours to Sanam Budha's  Out lbw on the ball . Prajwal Thapa also scored 6 runs in 7 balls and was caught out by Nikhil Khatri off Sanam Budha. Manish Thapa scored 10 runs and Suman Pandey remained unbeaten on 8 runs to win in 66 balls. Sanam Budha spent 30 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets for Bardia in bowling. Bardia, who batted first after winning the

toss, did not get off to a good start. On the first ball, Sandesh Thapa of Rupandehi bowled Asim Giri and showed the direction of the pavilion. Bardia's Nirmal Gurung tried to raise the innings after a 29-run partnership for the eighth wicket. When he scored 43 runs in 22 balls with 4 sixes and 1 four, other players could not support him .

Nikhil Khatri scored 12 runs in 27 balls and Abhishesh Rathore scored 7 runs in 9 balls. Bardia, who lost four wickets after adding 10 runs in the fifth over, was bowled out after scoring 66 more runs.

Krishna Karki bowled brilliantly to destroy Bardia's innings. He took five wickets with 1 maiden in 3.4 overs and spent 7 runs. While Sandesh Thapa took 2 wickets by giving 8 runs in 3 overs, Ajay Chauhan also took 2 wickets by giving 4 runs in 2 overs. Rupandehi's Krishna Karki was the player of the match for making the victory possible for the final journey.   Rupandehi will face Dang in the final match of the

competition. The final match between the two teams will be held at the Deukhuri International Cricket Stadium in Lamhi after 9 am on Thursday, according to Kailash Roka Magar, a member of Lumbini Province Sports Council.
