Punjab's passion, Chennai the same

After Priyansh Arya scored a century, Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by 18 runs in Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket on Tuesday. This is Punjab's third win in 4 matches. However, Chennai have suffered their fourth defeat in 5 matches.

Chennai, which came with a target of 220 runs, lost 5 wickets and scored only 201 runs. Opener Devon Conway retired on 69 runs after hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes off 49 balls. His opening pair Rachin Ravindra scored 36 runs with 6 fours off 23 balls. Captain Rituraj Gaekwad was dismissed for 1 run. Shivam Duve hit 42 off 27 balls with 3 sixes and 2 fours and Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 27 runs off 13 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes. Loki Ferguson of Punjab took 2 wickets with 40 runs. 

Earlier, 24-year-old Arya scored a century in 39 balls, which is the fourth fastest century in the IPL. With his efforts, Punjab scored 219-6. Opener Arya scored 103 runs playing a total of 42 balls. Apart from him, 5 of the top 6 batsmen could score only 32 runs in 25 balls. 

Shashank Singh, who batted at number seven, scored 52 with 2 fours and 3 sixes in 36 balls and Marco Jansen scored 34 runs in 19 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Arya hit 7 fours and 9 sixes in his innings. Chennai's Khalil Ahmed and Ravichandran Ashwin took 2 wickets each.

Lucknow's comeback

Kolkata- After losing the toss, Lucknow Super Giants, who were invited to bat, made a score of 238-3 at the Eden Gardens. This was Lucknow's second highest score in the IPL. But the team ended up losing by 90 runs in the powerplay. Lucknow then made a great comeback and took 5 wickets of Kolkata with a gap of 23 runs and won the game by 4 runs.

At 162-2 in 13 overs, Kolkata then needed 77 runs off 43 balls for victory. However, the team could score only 234 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 61 runs off 35 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Banktesh Air scored 45 off 29 balls with 6 fours and 1 six, Sunil Narine scored 30 off 13 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes and Quinton de Kock scored 15 off 9 balls. In the end, Rinku Singh scored 38 unbeaten runs with 6 fours and 2 sixes playing 15 balls. Lucknow's Akash Deep and Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets each. Shardul bowled 5 consecutive wides. 

Earlier, foreign batters from Lucknow shone again. Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh put on 99 runs in 10.2 overs. The partnership was broken when Markram was dismissed for 47 off 28 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Marsh scored 81 runs with 6 fours and 5 sixes in 48 balls while making his fourth half-century this season.  Nicholas Pooran, who leads the list of

runs, remains unbeaten on 87 runs. He hit 7 fours and 8 sixes in 36 balls. Kolkata's Harshit Rana took 2 wickets.
