Chitwan Women's Motor Rally and Nepal Auto Gymkhana ended late on Monday in Chitwan.
For the first time only women drivers participated in the competition organized by the management of Bagmati Pradesh Automobiles Association and Nepal Automobiles Association.
The rally started from Bharatpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry complex and reached Golaghat via Pokhara Bus Park, Pulchok, Chaubiskothi, Mangalpur, Rampur, Chanauli, Parsadhap, Meghauli. After a break at Golaghat, Barahi passed through Hotel Chowk, Sana Kisan Chowk, Meghauli Airport, Kasara Chowk, Town School Chowk and reached the River Bank Jungle Resort and ended with the TSD Rally.
In the closing session of the TSD Rally, Dinesh Kathayat, who traveled from Australia to Nepal via London, and Pragya Kandel, who participated in the motor sport games held in Valencia, Spain, shared their experiences.
After that, the rally reached Chitrasari ground in Sauraha through Bisahazari lake. Auto Gymkhana format racing was held on the same ground.
The pair of Naina Shrestha Maske and Romasa Sivakoti won the first place in the rally organized on the basis of time, speed and distance (TSD). Shobha Barailly and Renu Tamang got the second place and Chandana Koirala and Ashadevi Shrestha got the third place. They played the role of driver and navigator.
Anita Shrestha became the winner in the Nepal Auto Gymkhana competition. Kalpana Paudel was second and Savitri Regmi was third. Women empowerment, adventure sports and drive tourism were the main themes of the
program.
