Lumbini Pradesh Twenty20 Cricket: Rupandehi defeats Banke in semi-final

In the Lumbini State Level Twenty20 Cricket Tournament-2081, Rupandehi entered the semi-finals by winning by 18 runs after losing all the remaining wickets on the tight bowling of captain Dev Khanal and Ajay Chauhan.

In the ongoing competition organized by the Lumbini Sports Council and managed by the Dang District Cricket Association, in the match held on Tuesday at the Deukhuri International Cricket Stadium located at Lamhi-5, Banke, who was chasing a medium target of 116 runs, scored 51 runs while losing 4 wickets and was bowled out after adding 46 more runs.

Shubhendu Pandey scored 23 unbeaten runs for Banke who were all out in 19.3 overs but could not avoid defeat. He remained unbeaten on 23 runs with 3 fours off 27 balls and Banke lost by 18 runs as other middle order batsmen could not stay at the crease.

For Banke, Sunil Bhandari scored 16 runs in 18 balls, Yuvraj Sharma scored 13 runs in 10 balls, Sadab Ansari added 10 runs in 15 balls. Rupandehi's Ajay Chauhan, who bowled hard to bowl Banke out, took 4 wickets in 4 overs with just 2 runs. Captain Dev Khanal took 2 wickets with 14 runs in 3 overs while Suraj Khadka also took 2 wickets with 24 runs in 4 overs. While Biprashan KC took 1 wicket by giving 21 runs in 2 overs, Krishna Karki also took 1 wicket by spending 8 runs in 3.3 overs.

Rupandehi, who lost the toss and batted first, scored 115 runs losing all wickets in 19.4 overs. For Rupandehi, Suman Pandey scored 33 runs with 1 six and 4 fours in 21 balls. Captain Dev Khanal scored 12 runs in 11 balls, Mrinal Gurung scored 19 runs in 32 balls, Manish Thapa scored 11 runs in 20 balls, Prajwal Thapa scored 10 runs in 8 balls.

Ajay Sahni and Vijay Chaudhary took 3 wickets each for Banke. Ajay took 3 wickets with 19 runs in 3.4 overs while Vijay took 3 wickets with 21 runs in 4 overs.

Similarly, Animesh Shahi took 2 wickets by giving 22 runs in 3 overs while Saladin Khan took 1 wicket by spending 23 runs in 4 overs. Rupandehi's Ajay Chauhan, who bowled hard to beat Banke in the tournament, became the player of the match.
