The players who won the first and second place in the state level volleyball tournament were paraded around the city with honors in Tansen on Sunday.

District Volleyball Association of Palpa and Tansen Municipality honored Palpa's players who won first place for women and second place for men in the Lumbini state level volleyball tournament organized by the Provincial Sports Council. The Palpa Volleyball Association has made the players tour the market with Panchebaja. 

Raju Gurung, President of the District Volleyball Association informed that the players were paraded in Tansen market area, dancing and singing along with panchebaza. Mayor of Tansen Municipality Santosh Lal Shrestha, Spokesman Yadavsingh Karki, District Sports Development Committee President Deepak Ghimire and others honored the winning players by garlanding them with flowers. Mayor Shrestha said that by naming the district with the participation of almost all the municipalities of Palpa, it has established its identity at the national level. 

Palpa won the first place in women's volleyball held at Ghorahi in Dang from 20th to 23rd of Chait and got 1 lakh cash prize. Palpa defeated Rupandehi in the final with a set of 3-2.  The best player in the

tournament was the captain of Palpa, Gina Rana, the best server was Palpa's Dumisara Saru, the best defense was Palpa's Durgasara Gaha, and the best blocker was Palpa's Binita Rana, who was able to name the district, said Palpa General Secretary of the Volleyball Association Krishna Ale. Palpa won the second place in the state-level men's volleyball held in Arghakhanchi and got 65,000 cash, trophy, certificate and medal. 

District Sports Development Committee President Deepak Ghimire said that the committee is always ready to encourage the players and for that the volleyball association should coordinate and move forward. National players as well as referees and players participated in the city tour and honor program.
