After defeating Chitlang Football Club Kathmandu by a wide margin, the defending champions Virtamod United entered the semi-finals of the ongoing Sahid Bhimnarayan Gold Cup in Jhapa Dhankuta.

Virtamod decided to travel ahead by defeating the team by 3-1 in the exciting competition held at Lower Tudikhel of Dhankuta on Tuesday afternoon. Even though both teams played a competitive game in the first half, Virtamod took advantage of the weakness of foreign player Kuwasi, the goalkeeper of Chitlang.

Virtamod opened the account with Abhishek Gurung scoring the first goal for the team in the 45th minute of the first half. In the first half, Chitlang missed half a dozen chances to score. His attempt was not successful because of the strong goal keeper of the opposing team, Biswas Chaudhary.

The game of the first half was limited to 1-0. Virtamode became aggressive in the second half. In the 58th minute of the game, Vishal Bhandari scored a goal for Virtamod and gave the team an easy victory. The opposition goalkeeper Kuwasi came out of the box and caught the chance. In a short period of time, Gilson Kandangwa scored the third goal for Virtamod in the 63rd minute of the game. He shot the ball from near the goal post and turned it into a goal to give a 3-0 lead.

Both teams entered the field with foreign players. In the 66th minute of the game, Virtamod's player Subas Poyangbu scored a soul-killing goal on his own post. Chitlang got a consolation victory with the gift of his soul-killing goal. Virtamode's Gilshan Kandangwa was declared the man of the match. He received a cash prize of five thousand.
