On the occasion of New Year, 12 teams will participate in the 8th Smart Village Invitational Gold Cup Football Tournament to be held from May 1st. 11 teams from Nepal and one team from India will participate in the week-long tournament at Swargbhoomi Stadium in Ghalegaon.

The home team is Triveni Yuva Club Benisihar, Benisihar Youth Society, Nalma 11, Benisihar Municipality-5 and BYC Bhoteodar. Bhuyn Khel Football Club Kathmandu, Abhishek Church, Friendship Youth Club Tanahun, Gunni Football Club Pokhara, CYC Nepal United Turture, Rods Rampur Chitwan and Manang District Team. Prem Bahadur Ghale, chairman of the organizing committee, said that MSC Club Balia of Darjeeling will also participate in the competition. The
winner will win the gold cup with a prize of Rs 6 lakh 555. The runner-up will get Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand 355. The best player and the highest scorer will be awarded 10,000 each. Man of the match trophy will be awarded in every match. The organizers say that the tournament will cost 34 lakh 31 thousand 110 rupees.
