Hatuwagadhi and Shadanand of Bhojpur won the fifth Sahid Prakash Thapa Memorial Cup inter-municipal volleyball tournament held at Ghangru in Sahidbhoomi Rural Municipality of Dhankuta on Thursday.

In the match between host Sahidbhoomi and Hatuwagadhi, Hatuwagadhi won in straight sets. Hatuwagadi won easily with scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-11 respectively. Similarly, Shadanand won the match between Shadanand of Bhojpur and Belbari of Morang. He won by scores of 20-25, 25-19, 25-10 and 25-21 for Belabari.

Friday's match will be between Shadanand and Hatuwagadhi and Belbari against the host team, according to the organizers. On the first day, on Wednesday, the hosts won the match between Sangurigarhi and the hosts.

Prakash Thapa, who was an assistant inspector of Nepal Police, was killed in a Maoist attack in Kalikot in 2057.
