Nepal has started the third round of Asia Cup qualification with defeat. Nepal was defeated by Malaysia 2-0 in Group F match. This is Nepal's first defeat since Matt Ross came in as a new coach.
Earlier, Nepal defeated Singapore in a friendly practice match. Hector Hevel scored the first goal in the 29th minute of the match at the Sultan Ibrahim Larkin Stadium in Johor. In the 71st minute of the match, Korbin-Ong added the second goal.
In the other match of this group, Vietnam got off to a great start, beating Laos 5-0 and proving that they are strong contenders for the top spot. With this victory, Vietnam and Malaysia remained on the same 3/3 points. Nepal and Laos remained at zero points.
