Purna Thapa and Navraj Sapkota of Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality have won the title in the First Martyr Memorial District Level Badminton 081 Men's Doubles competition.
In the district-level badminton tournament organized by Shambhu Smriti Ashram Nepal, at Curved Hall in Bahrbise Municipality-3 Khursanibari, which lasted until late on Saturday, they defeated Ramesh Shrestha and Prakash Shrestha in the last match and won the first place.
36 team participants in the men's doubles match lost to them 2-1 in a 16-set match and were satisfied with Ramesh and Prakash II. Competitors Anish Gurung and Rudralal Shrestha, Ajay Tamang and Kishan Dulal fell to third. Similarly, Narayanalal Shrestha and Rajanman Shrestha from Melamchi city became the first in the veterans doubles competition. They defeated contestants Rakesh Thapa and Sajan Neupane in the final. Thapa and Sajan were second in the veterans doubles competition between 12 teams, while Mingmar Tamang and Dinesh Thapa, Ajay Parajuli and Ratna Shrestha of Balefi Gapa were third.
