The 23rd edition of the Tilottma Gold Cup football tournament is starting from today in Rupandehi. The tournament organized by District Football Association will last till 16th of Chait. All the matches of the tournament will be held at the Anfa Technical Ground in Devinagar.
Rupandehi District Football Association President Lok Pun said that 8 teams including 2 foreigners will participate in the competition. Manang Maryangdi Club, the winner of the 22nd edition of Tilottama Gold Cup, will not participate this time. 8 teams participating in
are divided into two groups. In group 'A' are host Rupandehi-11, APF Club of Departmental Team Armed, Sankata FC of Kathmandu, Georgian FC Bharat . Group 'B' has Church Boys United, Machindra Football Club, Nepal Police Club, and Adorn Gadwal Sporting Club of India .
In the opening match on Saturday, the host Current Rupandehi-11 and APF Club will compete. There will be a match between Church Boys United and Nepal Police Club on 10th Chaitra, Sankata FC and Georgian FC of India on 11th Chaitra, Machindra FC and Adorne Gadwal Sporting Club of India on 12th Chaitra .
This year, even the prize money has been increased by 1 lakh rupees compared to the previous edition, District Football Association President Pun said. This year, the winner of the competition will receive 12 lakh 12 thousand 222 rupees along with the title. The runner-up will get Rs 6 lakh 66 thousand 666 . Likewise, all those who excel in the category will be given 31-31 thousand rupees and a trophy and a motorcycle or scooter will be given to the best player. According to the organizer, 11 thousand 111 will be awarded to the player of the match in each game of the tournament.
Butwal Sub-Metropolitan Corporation is the patron of the competition and Yashoda Foods Pvt Ltd and Trimurti Industries Pvt Ltd are the main sponsors. It is estimated that a total of 1 crore 8 lakh 88 thousand rupees will be spent to complete the competition.
