The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced cash prizes for the ICC Champions Trophy winning Indian team.
BCCI issued a statement on Thursday and announced that the Indian team who won the Champions Trophy will be awarded a cash prize of 580 million Indian rupees.
BCCI said that this cash award will honor the players, coaching staff, support staff and members of the selection committee .
In the Champions Trophy final, India defeated New Zealand by four wickets and won the title.
BCCI president Roger Binny has said, "Winning the ICC title twice in a row is an important thing." And this award recognizes Team India's dedication and excellence on the global stage.'
