The digital learning platform 'My Second Teacher Nepal' has become the main sponsor of Nepal Super League (NSL) football franchise team Dhangadhi FC. According to Dhangadhi, an agreement has been reached with My Second for the NSL to be held from March 16 to Baisakh 13.
The agreement was signed by the president of Dhangadhi FC, Subas Shahi, and the head of My Second Teacher Nepal, Medha Bhattarai. The financial aspect of the agreement has not been disclosed. My Second Teacher has stated that through sponsorship, My Second Teacher Nepal aims to strongly connect education and sports.
'My Second Teacher Nepal has been working on the transformation of Nepal's education through technology,' Chief Bhattarai said in a statement, 'This collaboration is an important step to connect education with sports through technology and innovation.' Shahi, president of Dhangadhi, believed that such an agreement would help in the commercialization of football and said that it revealed a new possibility of connecting education with sports.
It is also said that there is an agreement between the two organizations to cooperate in the development of education and sports from the grassroots to the national level in the future. Dhangadhi reached the finals in the first two editions of the NSL. Dhangadhi will start the tournament against Butwal Lumbini on March 19.
