Sirijangha rural municipality is going to hold a half marathon competition at an altitude of 39 to 4200 meters on the 15th of Baisakh. An open marathon competition is going to be held on the occasion of Tourism Festival-2082 organized with the aim of promoting the Kanchenjunga region.

The winner will receive a prize of Rs 2 lakh 8 thousand 586 and the runner-up will get Rs 1 lakh 8 thousand 586. The runners of the half marathon have to run 24 kilometers in fair weather and 22 kilometers in bad weather. Other participants will get consolation prize at the rate of 8 thousand 586. Chitra Mabo, vice president of Sirijungha rural municipality and coordinator of the organizing committee, informed that the criteria will be set by Chaitra 15. 

The organizers have given it the title of Kanchenjunga Adventure Open Marathon. Runners from all over the country can participate in the competition.
