Police won by 7 wickets thanks to the excellent performance of Lalit and Gulshan

With the excellent performance of spinners Lalit Rajvanshi and Gulshan Jha, the departmental team Nepal Police Club won the sixth victory in the Prime Minister's Cup One Day Men's National Cricket Tournament.

The title contenders Police Club defeated Gandaki Pradesh by 7 wickets in the match held at Siddharth Cricket Stadium in Bhairawa on Wednesday. Police have won their sixth consecutive victory while maintaining their undefeated journey. 

Police completed the normal target of 93 runs given by Gandaki for the victory by losing 3 wickets in 16 overs. Captain Dipendra Singh Airi contributed the most 54 runs for Police. Airy faced 23 balls and hit 3 fours and 6 sixes. 

opener Arjun Saud scored 18 runs unbeaten and Dilip Nath scored 10 runs. Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for zero runs when Amit Shrestha scored 7 runs. 

Before that, Gandaki, who won the toss and batted first at Siddharth Cricket Stadium, scored only 92 runs losing all wickets in 23 overs. Arjun Kumal contributed the most for Gandaki with 48 runs.

He faced 63 balls and hit 8 fours. Apart from Rohit Chand and Subas Bhandari scoring equal 10/10 runs, other players could not score runs in double figures. Vansh Chhetri, Deepak Dumre, Sandeep Parajuli and captain Bipin Khatri were dismissed without scoring a run. Sudeep Aryal remained not out for 7 runs.

Police's Lalit Rajvanshi and Gulshan Jha bowled hard and Gandaki was caught cheaply. Lalit alone took 5 wickets. He bowled 5.2 overs and kept 2 maidens for only 7 runs. Gulsan Jha took four wickets. Jha spent 48 runs keeping a maiden in 8 overs.  In the

competition, the undefeated Police remain at the top of the table with 12 points. A weak Gandaki remained at the bottom of the table with 2 points. Gandaki has won one out of six matches and lost five matches.
