A new chapter will be written in Nepali football next week, when the national men's team under the leadership of coach Matt Ross takes to the field. Nepal will play a friendly international match against Singapore on Friday. Next Tuesday, they will compete against Malaysia in the Asia Cup Qualifiers.

The team that will play these two matches was officially bid farewell on Tuesday. While presenting to the Nepali media for the second time, coach Ross did not forget to praise Nepali football.

He has spent two weeks with the Nepalese team since he was given the responsibility of the head coach. He has also announced his 23-member squad. Regarding this team, he said, "I am happy and satisfied with the hard work and professional behavior of the Nepali players." All players are talented. It was difficult for me to even announce the final team, because I had to leave out some other worthy players. The preparation so far has been good.'

When facing Singapore, Australian coach Ross will have some opportunity to experiment. Playing against Malaysia will give the team a solid shape. Regarding this, coach Ross said, "In the match against Singapore, we will have an opportunity to experiment, because there will be an opportunity to put many players on the field." Then we will think about the match against Malaysia. We will play positive football. Our game will be aggressive. We are not going to sit back and play.'

coach Ross said that for now his entire focus is on these two games. "For now, my eyes are on these two games, on the other hand, my attention is also on SAFF Championship 2025. We should focus on the two games now and try to perform well in them. He reiterated once again that Nepal is capable of winning the SAFF Championship and everyone should strive for it. He does not believe that the 'Mission Safe Championship' has already started.

wants to prepare the base for that now. He reiterated that no matter what, it is a pride for him to manage the Nepali national team, it is an achievement like a dream come true. He also feels a little pressure as Nepal is going to play for the first time under his leadership. He says, 'I will not let this pressure dominate me. I've said it before. I will say again, I am extremely enthusiastic as a Nepalese team coach.'

The way he has chosen a 23-member team has also shown that he wants to do something different and better. He has given chance to Angel Shrestha as a goalkeeper, Suman Shrestha as a defender and Subas Bam Thakuri as a forward. He removed some expected names from the final team. Regine Subba and Kritisharat Chunju have also returned to the team. Although the head coach has a one-year contract, he wants to extend it, so the next two games could set the stage for his future.

In the current selection group of the Asia Cup, there are strong Vietnam and Laos along with Nepal and Malaysia. Captain Kiran Limbu also looked as happy as coach Ross. He says, "After the arrival of the new coach, something special has changed. I believe we can expect a good performance against Singapore and Malaysia. The current performance will set the stage for the SAFF Championship. It is the dream of all of us to win this competition.'
