Nepalese athlete Sumitra Nagarkoti has won a silver medal in the 20th WMF World Muay Thai Championship. In the competition held in Bangkok, Thailand, Sumitra won silver and Parika Batas won bronze.

In women's 57 kg, Sumitra defeated Italy's Michela Pinna and reached the semi-finals. After losing to Brazil's Camila Mossman in the final, Sumitra was limited to silver. Sumitra is the gold winner of last year's Indo-Nepal professional fight in India.

According to Ganesh Lal Kashpati, president of the Nepal National Muwathai Association, out of six players from Nepal who participated, Akesh KC, Milan Tamang, Guman Ghartimagar and Ashish Tamang were left without medals. Rahul Moktan was the coach. Sanjay Rai played the role of judge. According to the association, 352 players from 32 countries competed in the tournament held from March 9 to 18.
